It takes one to snow one in Carson City

Carson City Parks and Recreation presents the 2023 Shred Kids Ski & Snowboard Trips.

The event is a part of the Middle School and High School Ski and Snowboard program. The program comprises four Friday afterschool excursions to Boreal Mountain Resort. Participants will travel to the resort via chartered bus from the Carson City Community Center. On the bus and on the mountain, chaperones will help participants with rentals, instruction, and lunches. Each ski lesson will be held at night, so anyone interested in attending is asked to wear appropriate clothing.

The outings' $235 price tag includes:

• Transportation to and from the resort
• Four ski-lift tickets, one for each day of the program.
• Equipment rental (skis, board, bindings, and a helmet)
• A one-hour lesson an each trip
• A 30-day mountain pass that can be used during the winter or summer
• Dinner and refreshments in the lodge.

Each trip will be on a Friday from January 13 to February 3. The bus will leave the community center at 3:00 pm and return at 9:30 pm.
