Unique balloon festival returns to Albuquerque
The skies in Albuquerque will soon be filled with colorful painted spheres when the annual Balloon Fiesta makes a return at Balloon Fiesta Park this fall.
For nine days in October, hundreds of balloons will lift off in the world’s largest hot-air balloon festival. Riding one of the more than 500 balloons ascending into the atmosphere isn’t the only activity to participate in during the festival, as there are plenty of activities on the ground.
For those who burn the late-night oil, the balloons will illuminate the night sky. In addition to the multiple balloon ascension events throughout the festival, there are also drone light shows, a chainsaw carving exhibition and later auction, live musical performances, skydiving, fireworks, remote control balloon exhibitions, car shows, pin trading and more.
It is recommended that attendees bring items that include a camera, a hat and sunglasses, a blanket or lawn chair, dress in layers. It’s allowed for people to bring their own snacks and water, though there are also a lot of food cart vendors throughout the festival, including those serving everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner to coffee, snacks and desserts.
Vendors or sponsors at festivals like this may choose to use promotional pens as free giveaways to customers to raise brand awareness.
The Exxonmobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is happening from October 4-14 at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque.
