Unique holiday tour ticks off in Albuquerque

The Trolley of Lights is a unique tour that explores Albuquerque during its holiday season transformation each year.

The tour, which is held in the second half of December and begins at the Hotel Albuquerque, is a unique experience offered by ABQ Trolley Co. in which participants step onto a trolley decorated with Christmas lights.

Traveling through the historic Old Town, the tour invites participants to take in the views along Rio Grande Blvd, where holiday lights grace the historic adobe buildings on every street corner. A family-friendly event, amenities include hot cocoa and a tour that lasts 75-90 minutes.

It is recommended that participants bundle up, as the weather can be cold on December evenings in Albuquerque, dipping to around 30 degrees. In addition, the vehicle is an open-air Trolley, so it’s recommended to bring not only warm layers of clothing, but also blankets, caps, wool socks, mittens and long underwear.

City touring events like this may choose to use brochure printing to create maps and itineraries for participants.

The Trolley of Lights tour is happening daily from December 14 through December 23 at the Hotel Albuquerque at 800 Rio Grande Blvd NW in Albuquerque. Tour times each day are from 6 pm to 7:30 pm and from 8 pm to 9:30 pm. The price is $35.
