Albuquerque’s First Financial Credit Union Amphitheater will host a farewell tour concert by the legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan this September.
Billed as Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber, the show features another legendary hip-hop act in its lineup, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Wu-Tang’s farewell tour began a year ago and it is still going strong, with future stops planned for cities in Utah, California, Nevada and Arizona through October.
RZA, one of the spearheading figures of the rap group, said the tour aspires to hold the kind of legendary stadium performances that rock bands were known to dominate in the 1980s and 90s.
The farewell saga for the Wu-Tang Clan goes beyond the scope of just concerts. Specifically, the four-part 2019 docuseries “Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men” and the TV dramatization of the group’s origin, “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” which wrapped its third and final season in 2023, were both masterminded by RZA as part of the band’s send-off. RZA has also teased a yet-to-be-realized feature film as part of Wu-Tang Clan’s final goodbye.
