K-POP tribute show to hunt demons in Albuquerque

A tribute show featuring songs from K-POP’s greatest hitmakers, as well as music from the film KPop Demon Hunters, is coming to Albuquerque’s Revel theater this June.

In addition to music from the film’s in-universe bands, Huntr/X and Saja Boys, the K-Pop Superstars show will include hit songs from artists such as BTS, Jungkook, TXT, Katsye, Blackpink, Rose and Fifty Fifty.

Released last year on Netflix, KPop Demon Hunters became a runaway hit, with its soundtrack single “Golden” charting No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay in January, the first time a song in the K-Pop genre took the coveted top spot in the category. The song previously enjoyed eight weeks at No. 1 on the multimetric Billboard Hot 100, from August through October of last year.

“Golden” broke ground by picking up an Academy Award for Best Original Song, a first in the genre to win the Oscar, along with KPop Demon Hunters also winning Best Animated Feature. Despite the film being released on the streaming platform Netflix, initially, it also became an unexpected box office hit when it was later released in theaters as a sing-along event.

Concerts like this may choose to use banner printing to create marquees, stage decorations and vendor Signs.

K-POP Superstars is performing on June 7 from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at the Revel at 4720 Alexander Blvd NE in Albuquerque.
