The numbers are in, and the New Mexico tourism department in Albuquerque has heard from more than 50 businesses that are interested in being given the right to display the official ‘New Mexico True’ label on their products.
Back in April, the department initiated its New Mexico True certification program, which allows approved businesses to use the label on their Packaging and other marketing materials. According to state officials, it can be used by wineries, ranchers, farmers, salsa makers, and other companies to tie into the brand that has been developed over the past four years.
The tourism department plans on actively marketing the brand as it heads into the Mexico True Fest, which has been planned for Albuquerque this Labor Day weekend. The producers of products that carry this designation will receive priority placement and have their fees waived for the expo. A variety of Promotional Products that include the New Mexico True logo can be created for events such as this.
Rebecca Latham, who is the state’s tourism secretary, noted that so far, 53 enterprises have applied to be included in the program. Before they will be approved, each must be vetted to make sure that the products they market to the public are born and raised, made, or grown entirely in New Mexico.
So far, 24 of the applicants have been approved, including condiment producers, silversmiths, and a paper company. Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products Get a Free Quote for Packaging
