One of the most recognizable Albuquerque buildings, the Jones Motor Company, will get a lease of life thanks to the renovation plans of M’tucci’s Moderno Italian Restaurant.
The Jones Motor Company building‘s last occupant was Kellys Brew Pub, but this was over a year ago. M’tucci’s Minister of Culture and brand manager, Howie Kaibel, discussed the planned for renovations with KRQE:
“This was the retail and dining mecca of this city and we’re going to be there again. We are working with the Landmark Commission to make sure, especially the exterior is going to look the way it looks today, it’s just going to be cleaned up.”
A flyer printing service is helpful when it comes to advertising new dining options.
Back in the 1940s and 1950s, cars traveling on Route 66 would look forward to stopping at the property. M’Tucci’s request to renovate the long garage’s five old service bays has been approved by the Landmark Commission. Cheese, pasta, and bread may be made in the garage and sold at a walk-up window, according to a city’s document.
M’tucci Bar Roma, as the Nob Hill location will be known, will have a marketplace, and a Rome-inspired restaurant. The site’s patio will have greenery added to create a relaxing oasis. The company is working with the Nob Hill Neighborhood Associations to make sure locals are happy with M’tucci’s plans.
A January opening is anticipated.
