Part of the ‘3rd Thursday’ event series, ‘Women, Art, and Creativity’ coincides with the Women and Creativity 2013 showcase and provides guests with the opportunity to come out and enjoy some music, poetry, acting, and a number of offerings from various local vendors.
Print companies may have been instrumental in promoting this event by supplying poster printing and flyer printing, which may have been distributed throughout the region.
This event is extra special as guests will enjoy music by Madi Sato, a Santa Fe songwriter and award winning singer, sound healer, teacher, actor, and poet. During this performance, the audience will enjoy jazz and Japanese music. Ophelia Adelai Cornet will be teaching art deco jewelry-making in the lobby area with everyone invited to participate.
There will be a number of guest speakers in the gallery where the exhibit ‘Images of Women: Deco Japan – Shaping Arts and Culture 1920 – 1945’ will be on show. Kathleen Schweitzer, a local paper artist, will be teaching origami in the Museum’s Gallery Store for all to attempt and enjoy. This promises to be an interesting evening filled with activity and entertainment, and a great fun-filled day for the entire family.
