The New Mexico Academy of General Dentistry will be teaching a course on panoramic radiographic interpretation in dentistry.
The course will begin with a look at panoramic radiography technology and move on to explore a detailed examination of radiographic interpretation. This pertains to a variety of common disorders seen in patients at the UMSOD. Guests will also get a chance to look at dosimetry, radiation biology, and dental cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).
A brief introduction to human anatomy will be covered throughout the seminar, with an emphasis on how it relates to CBCT scans. This anatomical analysis will be followed by a presentation of a few CBCT pathological cases that highlight the importance of a systematic approach to CBCT evaluation. A comprehensive review of the numerous clinical uses of CBCT, including endodontic diagnosis, implant planning, growth and development evaluations, oral surgery evaluations, and analysis of TMJ disorders, will take up the majority of the course's time. Information about events like this can be shared with flyer printing.
The training goals are varied, covering topics like comprehending how dental CBCT radiation affects general health, linking radiography findings to the patient's physique, and recognizing typical radiographic anomalies in the maxillofacial region. Participants can expect to learn how to create an organized management strategy for pathology found by CBCT scans.
The two-day course is scheduled for 8am to 5pm on December 1st and 2nd, at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Albuquerque. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on both days.
