Cheetahs to overrun the Albuquerque Zoo

On International Cheetah Day, cheetahs will be featured at the ABQ BioPark, in the zoo section. The zoo is partnering with the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) to help educate guests about these large cats.

Cheetahs are the smallest of the large cats, and are the fastest land animal, reaching running speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. These cats are also endangered, living in less than a quarter of their historical range, so it is hoped the day will raise awareness.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about these cats, as well as see one up close. There will be a keeper talk, as well as discovery stations around and about, and crafts for guests.

The CCF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the cheetah in the wild. It helps research cheetahs, and has used innovative techniques to help humans and cheetahs live together peacefully in Africa.

The zoo will also be sharing information on how to help wildlife all over the world, even right in New Mexico. There is plenty guests can learn from this unique opportunity, and brochure printing can ensure attendees at an event like this have more material to digest when they get home.

International Cheetah Day is this coming Tuesday, December 4, and the celebration at Albuquerque Zoo will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
