Boutique hotel planned for Albuquerque

A new hotel, reported to be a modernized approach to the Anasazi ruins at Chaco Canyon, is set to break ground in Albuquerque this fall, with the doors to open to guests in the spring of 2016.

The hotel, which is to be located in the city's Old Town, will take its inspiration from the distinctive Southwest style found throughout New Mexico. Inside, the hotel will embed the New Mexican culture, according to the firm behind the venture.

Speaking about the new hotel, Heritage Hotels & Resorts said there will be a foyer in the style of a kiva (an Indian chamber) with the 118 rooms being built across five stories in a "stacked pueblo style".

The design of the hotel will also feature an orientation that will see the rooms stay warm in the winter and keep cool throughout the summer months. The rooms will also be decorated in traditional Navajo wools.

Advertising for the hotel, which will likely include poster printing and banner printing, will also advertise the many facilities on offer at the hotel. They will include a rooftop terrace and bar and a spa.

Other facilities, such as the swimming pool, will be shared with Heritage's other hotel, Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.

Brochure printing for the new hotel, which has yet to be named, will also show that the traditional approach extends to the kitchen, with the restaurant serving modern Native American cuisine.
