Young Gaston entrepreneur visited by congressman

Kweli Meadows from North Gaston High School, which serves Dallas and the central portion of northern Gaston County, including Gastonia, was recently visited by United States Representative Patrick McHenry to demonstrate his entrepreneurial spirit.

Meadows collects old and worn sneakers at a low cost and refurbishes them, so they seem like a new pair. Often, he adds some custom painting and then he sells them on the web. Logo Design on websites is often used to help such entrepreneurs promote their products.

For his business venture, the Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce gave him the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2019.

McHenry was attracted to the idea of the business and decided to visit Meadows, who was wearing a pair of black Adidas Swift Run sneakers that he refurbished himself on the day of the visit.

During their time together, Meadows and McHenry talked about financial strategies, the business, and saving money.

Meadows said that he usually pays less than $15 for a pair of sneakers and averages $60 and $75 for a pair. So far, he has sold close to 20 pairs of sneakers from brands ranging from Air Jordans to Nike Air Force 1s. His profits are used for reinvesting in the business or spending the money on his siblings.
