Holiday festivities scheduled for Gastonia area

Parades and other festivities will be taking place in Gastonia and neighboring communities this holiday season.

When such events take place during the holiday season cities and towns can benefit from flyer printing to spread the news throughout the region.

The Gaston County Jaycees will be holding their parade in downtown Gastonia next month. This will be the kick-off for the Christmas in the City event of the city which features, vendors, entertainment, and a tree lighting. The parade will be on Sunday December 7 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The tree lighting will take place at the Rotary Centennial Pavilion on N. South Street following the parade at around 6:30 p.m.

Gastonia will also be hosting breakfast with Santa on Saturday December 6 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.at the Rankin Lake Clubhouse on Rankin Lake Road

Belmont will hold its annual tree lighting and annul Christmas parade. The parade will feature vintage cars, festive floats, and performances by high school marching bands in the area, as well as a visit from Santa Claus. A celebration at Dwight Frady Fields on E. Catawba Street will end this special event. The tree lighting will be on Monday December 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Old City Hall and the parade will be on Tuesday December 2 beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Belmont will also be hosting a Bavarian Holiday Fest, a festival with a German theme on Main Street on Saturday December 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
