Kuppa Joe is now open in Gastonia on West Franklin Boulevard, which was once the home of Sweet Scoops ice cream.
Banner printing can be used at such sites to announce their opening and highlight their specialties and offerings.
Darrin Trapp is the owner of the establishment. He named the shop in honor of his brother Joe who passed away last year and his sister Karen who passed away in 2016. The spelling of “cuppa” to “Kuppa” is in honor of his sister.
The inside of the shop has been redesigned with a living room vibe, offering soft lighting, soft couches, and family photos geared towards unhurried work sessions and lingering conversations. Thia addition to West Franklin is another spot that is locally owned where people can plug in, meet up, and catch up over a cup of coffee.
Trapp decided to open the shop after raising his daughter Darien when he became a single father in 2016. Once she turned 21, he decided it was time to act on a dream he had for a long time of opening a coffee shop.
Kuppa Joe is a family business. Trapp’s son Dalavon works behind the bar and Darien manages the business. Trapp said that as a family-run business, the shop will soon announce regular hours that are more aligned with the rhythm of the neighborhood rather than using a more corporate schedule.
