It is an industrial concrete manufacturer and will be building a concrete pipe manufacturing facility that will span 154,000 square feet on a parcel near the border of North and South Carolina that is proposed to be annexed into the city of Gastonia.
The new facility will produce concrete infrastructure products of a large scale and will be an important addition to the expanding industrial base of Gastonia. The new facility will bring 125 jobs to the area, with an average wage of $102,168. Such high-paying jobs may call for the need for business card printing services. The local economy can benefit from this with a potential payroll impact on an annual basis of more than $12.7 million.
Michael Peoples, city manager, said:
“Fit Precast reflects the kind of sustainable investment and growth outlined in the City’s strategic plan.”
He expressed his excitement about the opportunities that this project will create for residents and for economic development.
Richard Franks, mayor of Gastonia, said that this project highlights how Gastonia has the momentum to attract high quality jobs and advanced manufacturing. He expressed his pride that companies continue to recognize the city as place of opportunity and where businesses can thrive.
It is expected that construction on the facility will be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
