Unique new lounge to open in Gastonia

A premium cigar and whiskey club will be coming to downtown Gastonia.

A space spanning 3,000 square feet is currently being renovated by Jacob Hibberts, a cigar connoisseur. He is planning to open WhiskGars Cigar and Co. which will be an exclusive lounge for members near the Rotary Pavilion. This establishment will be the first of its kind in Gastonia, although cigar lounges are not new to the Charlotte area. Flyer printing is often used to help publicize a new type of establishment opening in town and its many features.

WhiskGars will feature a large room able to hold 100 guests. It will have a granite-top bar measuring 36 feet long, with leather chairs and porcelain tiles on the floor. There will be humidors that will hold 20,000 cigars.

The atmosphere will be like a bar set in the 1940s and 1950s set to a background of music from Frank Sinatra and other musicians from that era. Hibberts said it will be an upscale environment. In addition to whiskey, a full bar of various distilled spirits, as well as draft and bottle beer will be served.

Those interested in WhiskGars can pre-order silver memberships for $35 per person or $50 per couple. Single pass visits will be $10 while lifetime memberships will have a one-time price of $350.

WhiskGars is expected to open next month.
