Photo contest has all residents in the picture

The Gaston County Museum of Art and History is accepting applications for the ‘Southern Exposure: 2016 Juried Photography Exhibition’ over the next few weeks. The theme of the exhibition is 'Summer in the South'.

The contest is open to all of those who live in Gaston County regardless of age. Each picture must be original and taken during the summer of 2016 between now and August 15. The pictures must be digital, taken with a camera, iPad or cell phone, and only one picture is accepted per applicant.

The pictures can be submitted via email and must be under 10MB with a 300dpi, with a name and contact information supplied. They can also be submitted through the app and social networking site Instagram using the hashtag #gcmphotoexhibit. Those selected will be sent an application form.

The contest application must contain a title for the photograph, where it was taken, when it was taken, and a description of what it represents. Those interested have until August 26 to apply.

Chosen photographers will have their work displayed at the Southern Exposure exhibition from October 15 until January 7. No doubt many budding photographers and graphic design students from all over the county, including Gastonia, will be interested in submitting an entry.
