According to Engineered Solutions, vice president and managing director, Steven Vermeulen, the new site will provide the company with the opportunity to utilize the newest manufacturing technology. He adds that the Gastonia plant will operate efficiently and with strong level of quality, resulting in higher yields and, consequently, less waste.
Owens Corning is one of the world’s leading producers of the glass fiber reinforcements used to strengthen composite systems. Its non-woven glass fiber fabric, Sustaina®, will be produced at the new Gastonia plant in four-meter widths. Currently Sustaina is only being manufactured in narrower widths in its existing manufacturing facilities.
Sustaina fabric has both commercial and residential applications. Among items that can benefit from it are ceiling backings, insulation facers, and cushion vinyl flooring. It is also used in carpet tiles.
Once the facility is up and running a variety of Stationery printing products will be need. Letterheads, invoices and Business Cards containing the Gastonia facility’s address will be just the start of printing services required.
Vermeulen explained:
"With our Gastonia plant, we'll be able to meet the growing demand for Sustaina non-wovens. It's a way we can help our customers move toward their environmental objectives while also improving their performance."Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Letterheads Get a Free Quote for Stationery
