Academy Sports + Outdoors recently opened a new store in Gastonia, offering gear for athlete, grill master, and outdoor enthusiasts, with products ranging from kayaks and rifles to bikes and soccer balls.
The store in the same shopping center as Chick-fil-A, Sam’s Club, and Lowe’s Home Improvement and in the space that was once occupied by Kmart. The Kmart, located on a site 11 acres in size, closed in 2016. The store has several sections, among them ones for grilling, camping, fishing and hunting, and team sports.
Liza Barnett, regional marketing specialist, said that everybody can find something in the store. Promotional Products can be used to advertise such new stores and their many products and special offerings.
Academy is a chain based in Texas that has over 245 stores in 16 states. This is the sixth such store in the metropolitan Charlotte area and the 14th in North Carolina.
A grand opening event was held on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. Free T-Shirts were given out to the first 150 people who came to the store. In addition, there were raffles for gifts for the first 150 people over the age of 18 who showed that they liked the store on social media.
