The new Chick-fil-A Cox Road on Cox Road in Gastonia is now open, offering drive-thru, dine in, and take out services.
There are about 115 part-time and full-time employees working at this new location, which is on the site of the former Ruby Tuesday and about one mile from Franklin Square off Interstate 85. The openings of such eateries in a new part of town is often promoted with banner printing.
The owner of the store is Nolan Hatley, whose career at Chick-fil-A started in Concord Mills when he was 14 years old. Hatley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Charlotte and has operated the Chick-fil-A at the Quaker Bridge Mall in New Jersey for 12 years.
One of the programs being offered by this new location is the Shared Table Program in which it will provide surplus food to local non-profit organizations, food banks, shelters, and soup kitchens.
Chick-fil-A has opened several other locations within the past year in the area. There is now a shop southeast of Charlotte in Mint Hill; another in Gaston County on South Point in Belmont; and a renovated store on Woodlawn Avenue in Charlotte that only offers drive-thru services.
The Chick-fil-A Cox Road is opened Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Friday and Saturday from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
