Holiday home tour and gala to provide charity boost

A Charity Holiday Home Tour of the historic Rankin-Mercer house, as well as a Holiday Gala at the same location, will raise money for local charities this month.

For a few days, the stately mansion in Gastonia will be lavishly decorated in silver and gold and trimmed in greenery, with each room containing its own floor-to-ceiling uniquely decorated Christmas tree. Proceeds from the tours will go to the individual charities selected in advance.

Rooms on the tour, and trees in the Gallery of Trees, are available for sponsorship at four levels ranging from $250 to $600. A few trees are available for sponsorship, but they are quickly being snapped up.

On December 6 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and again on December 7 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the 1925 building will be open to the public for self-guided tours for $5 per person. Group tours can be arranged for 10 or more in advance for December 8 – 12.

After that, a Holiday Gala at the house will take place December 13 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and will include refreshments and a private tour of the house. Limited tickets are available and must be purchased in advance for this event, which costs $35 per person. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit Gaston Hospice.

For a holiday event such as this one, companies that offer banner printing can create a level of excitement and anticipation that increases attendance.
