The ‘Gaston Outside’ Campaign of the Greater Gaston Development Corporation (GGDC) has been chosen as the winner of this year’s Community Leadership Award by the Gaston Together: Communities of Excellence.
The ‘Gaston Outside’ Campaign has been a marketing plan that has taken place over many years to rebrand and celebrate Gaston County as one of the best places to live, play, work, learn, and visit. The selection committee chairperson, Reverend David Christy, said that the leadership of the GGDC was able to develop a unique strategy to bring a positive message of industrious people, many natural resources, and charming small towns, all of which make it deserving of this award.
Local printing services can be used to make those in the community aware of such awards and their benefit to the community.
A sculpture commissioned by Gaston Together will be presented to the GGDC to recognize its winning of this award. HealthNet Gaston will also be recognized this year for its works in providing affordable and comprehensive healthcare to those residents in Gaston County who are uninsured or on a low income.
The award will be presented at the Gaston Country Club in Gastonia on Tuesday, May 6, beginning at 6:00 pm. Atrium Health, Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund, Dominion Energy, and Duke Energy are gold sponsors of the event.
