Mike Causey, Fire Marshal for the state, said that this is an important milestone for the city of Gastonia, Gaston County, and the entire state. He added that the difference between a Class 1 and Class 2 rating may be only a half-point, but this can be significant.
Phil Welch, Chief of the Gastonia Fire Department, said that these ratings are due to the dedication and hard work of the 144 firefighters and staff. He added that everyone is proud to serve the visitors and citizens of Gastonia. Walker E. Reid, mayor of the city and a former Fire Marshal, said this is an important rating for business owners and homeowners and for attracting business owners to the area as their insurance will be less expensive.
The ISO Rating ranges from 1, which is the best, to 10, and is one of the primary criteria that is used by the insurance industry to determine premiums. Get a Free Quote for Banners
