Gastonia-based health service to open new facilities

Construction is currently underway on a new medical campus and hospital of CaroMont Health based in Gastonia.

The CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont will have an emergency department with 16 rooms, 12 observation beds, 54 acute care beds, a delivery unit, imaging services, and operating rooms. The campus will span 28 acres and will also have a parking deck and medical offices. It is estimated that close to 16,000 patients could be seen in the first year and as many as 150 new jobs could be created from the hospital. Whenever new jobs are created, many roles require business card printing services.

This new hospital and medical campus are part of an investment of over $300 million on the part of CaroMont Health to create expanded and new facilities over the next three years in Gaston County. President and CEO of CaroMont Health, Chris Peek, said that they looking to build more than a hospital and a medical campus but to build the future. He said this will be where patients heal, where new life will be welcomed, and where healthcare professionals of the next generation will find their purpose.

The CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont is on land owned by Belmont Abbey College and its monastic community. This close location will provide additional student education in the health science programs.

Mid-2023 is when the CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont is scheduled to open.
