The Gaston County Police Department is inviting all citizens of the County, including those in Gastonia, to celebrate Gaston County Police Night Out being held for the tenth year.
The goal of this event is to increase awareness of drug prevention and crime, strengthen partnerships between the police and the community, build support for, and participation in, local efforts against crime, and let criminals know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Featured at the event this year will be live music by the Ben Gatlin Band. There will also be free drinks, food, and snacks as well as demonstrations from the K-9 team, child identification kits, pony rides, games, and information for child safety and other resources. Local Print shops can often assist with such events by creating Flyers, Brochures, and other printed materials with more details and takeaways from such events.
Members of the Police Department will be at Biggerstaff Park on Dallas Cherryville Highway in nearby Dallas and will be displaying thweir specialized unit police vehicles. They will talk about and answer questions about their roles in the specialized units in the department. Among those members to be at the event will be members of the marine unit, crime scene, animal care and enforcement, and Emergency Response Team as well as K-9 officers and patrol officers.
Gaston County Police Night Out will be held next Tuesday August 13 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
