Design association to hold seasonal gala

The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) will be holding its second annual Giving Gala next month in Charlotte. Residents of Gastonia will no doubt want to make the short trip to attend this festive holiday event.

There will be a choice of seasonal beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and an outstanding silent auction. Among the auction items are gift cards to The Botanicult, the Mac Tabby Café, Amor Artis Brewing, and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, and passes to the Good Karma Ranch and the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Proceeds of the event and auction will go towards helping the creative community of Charlotte and benefit the Design Curriculum Fund.

Tickets go on sale this month and include two drink tickets and appetizers. The dress code is festive attire or a creative cocktail outfit. Parking will be available at no charge on site and across the street.

The AIGA is a professional organization for design and includes among its members those from interaction design, graphic design, typography, and communication design. Its mission is to provide standards for professional practice for those in the design profession.

The gala will be held on Wednesday December 11 beginning at 6:30 pm at the 8.2.0 Pizzeria & Bar in Charlotte. More information about the AIGA and its programs can be found by visiting the website.
