Tiramisu course welcomes students in Durham

Durham residents with a sweet tooth and a knack for baking should make a note in their Calendars, as a Tiramisu workshop is coming to town.

The Tiramisu Making Class, organized by Il Laboratorio, is preparing to welcome students and other interested parties who want to learn the basics of making authentic Italian desserts and cuisine. Daniela from Baked by D will lead the course and demonstrate the process of making it from scratch.

Daniela is a first-generation Italian-American who gained experience cooking and baking in her family’s Italian Market. Her expertise will allow her to guide students through creating the mascarpone cream and layer the Tiramisu with ladyfingers. Attendees can take the completed dessert home at the end of the course to enjoy with family and friends. Brochure printing is a fantastic visual aid to guide students through learning courses and workshops like this.

The course cannot accommodate dietary restrictions, and the recipe requires eggs, milk, and wheat. Children nine and up are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian. Students are welcome to bring wine from home and drink during the learning sessions, though it will not be permitted during the cooking process.

The class will be held at The Cooking Lab by Melina’s Fresh Pasta on Sunday, December 8th, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Registration is open online and costs $70 per student.
