Museum of Life and Science offers winter science classes

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham will offer some exciting winter science classes for kids this winter.

The School of Science and Magic will meet from January 2-4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. These sessions are open to kids aged 4 through to 5th grade. Kids will construct magic wands and hats. They will learn about plants and animals, brew chemical potions, and learn about outer space. A boxed lunch is provided for an additional fee.

The Lab Program starts tomorrow, December 26th, through January 6th. It runs Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.

The lab will feature a variety of projects that week. Kids will learn about ice skating physics and build a spinner.

During the Lab Program they will learn about winter animals and how they stay warm. They will build igloos and gingerbread houses and learn about holiday scents and how they travel.

The Tinkering Family Workshop Roving Robots takes place on February 1 from 1-3 p.m. and February 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. Students will learn what makes robots move and design their own to take home. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
