Locals in Rochester can combine interests in history and crafting for an experience in early February.
Vintage Valentine Making is an event that discusses the history behind making a special Valentine’s card, as well as the holiday. The participants will get to put together their own card, which gives them an opportunity to put more personal elements into it. Anyone from the age of two can give the activity a go, making this a chance for friends and families to do something different together.
The History Center of Olmsted County (HCOC) is the location of the crafting session. The non-profit was established nearly a century ago by community members who worked towards the preservation of local history. Initially, it was known as The Olmsted County Historical Society. To this day, it is run with aid from a Board of Directors and many volunteers.
Tickets are sold through HCOC’s website. For children between the ages of 2 and 12, the price is $5, while those over 13 pay $9. For HCOC members, there is no cost, as the admission is covered through the membership.
Flyer printing will make frequent appearances in the process of advertisement for events held at non-profit venues like the History Center, which will be open for crafting between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 10.
