An early November event by a local company is showing off the group’s talent and creativity through a well-known tale.
“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” is retelling of L. Frank Baum’s classic story of Toto, Dorothy, Tin Woodman, Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion as they come together to go on a journey through a magical world, each looking for something they strongly desire.
Rochester Ensemble of Dance’s (RED) production is one that will be unique to the company, with its own choreography and details, making the experience extra special. The organization that focuses on providing opportunities to local talent through both contemporary and classical dance shows. The events allow young dancers to gain artistic skills alongside fellow community members.
The company also aims to make its art accessible to the audience through the shows being family-friendly, and the tickets being sold at a low cost. For this production, including fees, tickets are $17.30 per person. These are available for purchase through onthestage.tickets. The venue is Rochester Civic Theatre.
Performances take place over three days. Flyer printing is a popular way for local arts-based organizations to promote shows around their local area.
Friday, November 7 has a 7:00 pm showing. Saturday, November 8 has performances at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Sunday, November 9 rounds out the production with a 1:00 pm show.
