Rochester clinic publishes plans for distributing vaccines

The Mayo Clinic in Rochester has put out its plans for getting its supply of COVID-19 vaccinations to patients.

The White House recently made the decision to release vaccine reserves originally intended for second doses. Changes were also made which allow mature people and people who are at high risk of contracting the disease to get their vaccines faster. The Mayo Clinic’s new guidelines reflect these changes. The hospital’s guides show that long-term residents in care and people working in healthcare will be at the top of the priority lists. Officials stated that the clinic is still committed to ensuring the long-term health of its patients.

The second phase of vaccines is now available to patients aged 75and older, as well as frontline workers. The next round of vaccines will be available to people at least 65 years old and for people older than 16 who have high-risk conditions. The Mayo Clinic stated that the guidelines for the following phases are yet to be decided on, but it is likely that it will be for people living in densely populated areas. Printing services can be used to promote public health awareness in cases like this.

The Mayo Clinic will send out invitation letters to patients who have primary care providers through an online portal. Patients who do not have access to the portal will receive their letters in the mail.
