Galleries, Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) members and businesses will be celebrating the Minneapolis art scene at more than eighty locations over Art-A-Whirl Weekend, scheduled for mid-May.
Guests will be meeting artists in the artists' own spaces, enjoying interactive activities, watching demonstrations, and listening to live music performances.
Studio buildings that will be open for tours will include 2010 ArtBlox at 2010 E Hennepin Avenue, A-Mill Lofts at 315 SE Main, Architectural Antiques Building at 1330 Quency Street NE, California Building 2205 California Street, plus thirteen more.
Multiple guest artists will be present at twenty-two businesses, including Bauhaus Labs, Earl Giles, Quency Hall, and St. Clement Church.
Twenty-five professional galleries will be taking part including INDIGO, Bee's Pottery, and Minneapolis Clay Collective.
Dogwood Coffee Northeast, Centro, Beast Barbecue, and The Anchor Fish and Chips will be among the twenty-five food businesses and fifteen beverage vendors who will be participating.
NEMAA Shop online has a collection of items from many genres for sale by local artists. Guests may also purchase items from the artists themselves.
Art-A-Whirl merchandise can also be purchased online. This year's Member Directory and Art-A- Whirl Guides will be available for $10, while hoodies sporting the pink NEMAA Logo Design are $65, and T-Shirts bearing the Art-A-Whirl graphic design are $20.
