Minneapolis Winterapolis 2025-2026 will be coming to Minneapolis in late November.
Celebrating our people and upholding our status of “America’s Winter City”, Winterapolis is a collaborative arts and cultural campaign presented by Meet Minneapolis, Minneapolis Foundation and the MPLS Downtown Council.
More than 15 events ranging from arts and theater, family fun and dance to comedy, multicultural, history, heritage and fitness have been scheduled to take place over the winter season.
The Light Up and Winter Kickoff will officially start the multi-month celebration. In downtown Minneapolis. Minnesota mascots and live entertainment will greet guests in Nicollet Mall and Crystal Court on the evening after Thanksgiving. At 6:05 pm downtown businesses, skyscrapers and streetlights will blink on with holiday lights, and the IDS Crystal Court holiday tree will light up.
After the tree lighting ceremony, everyone is invited to stick around and enjoy the local eating establishments and do a little holiday shopping at the holiday markets.
Winterapolis will include Holidays on Hennepin, Uptown which will run from November 28th to December 31st. Some activities that have been slated include live music, a holiday parody Mistletoe and Mayhem, Fireside Fridays, Snow Glow Family Fun Day, Uptown Winer Wonderland Holiday Market, a Santa's Ornament Workshop, and a Cranberry Crawl.
Cities that support campaigns like this often have pictures taken during the events. The photos are then sent to local Print shops to be added to visitor guide brochure printing.
Minneapolis Winterapolis will run from November 28th through mid-February 2026.
