Inspirational animal play coming to Grand Rapids

There will be a special performance taking place in Grand Rapids this October aimed at kids. The show is titled “Giraffes Can’t Dance”.

The story takes place in the heart of Africa amid the annual Jungle Dance, a grand event where every creature assembles to frolic and sway. Yet, this year, Gerald finds himself in a melancholy state. Dancing was not his forte, and his spirits sagged. Gerald the Giraffe yearns to partake in the grand Jungle Dance, but the notion of tango or two-stepping leaves him bewildered. After all, it's common knowledge that giraffes can't dance. However, a wise and compassionate cricket steps into his life, altering his rhythm. Sometimes, being unique simply means dancing to a distinct melody.

"Giraffes Can't Dance" carries a profound message of acceptance and self-belief, making it an ideal tale for young children. It encourages them to embrace their individuality and dance to their own tune, much like Gerald the Giraffe. The story unfolds with five actors portraying warthogs, lions, rhinos, chimps, and, of course, the violin-playing cricket, weaving a tapestry of storytelling.

The advanced ticket cost to attend the event is $22 for adults and seniors, and $11 for students. The price on the door for seniors will be $27 and $16 for students.

Poster printing cam be a great way to advertise events such as this one.

The event will take place on Friday, October 13, starting at 6pm. It will take place at the Reif Performing Arts Center 720 NW Conifer Drive Grand Rapids, Minnesota 55744.
