The first Chuck Gesme Memorial Shootout will take place at the Pokegama Golf Course in July.
The event will aim to bring together golfers for a weekend of competition and community togetherness. The event is being held in honour of Chuck Gesme, a businessman and community leader known for his professional success and commitment to helping others. The tournament, also known as GISMO, will follow a four-ball match play format, where teams compete in a series of nine-hole matches before advancing to a final shootout.
Revenue from the event will help support local nonprofit organizations through the Chuck Gessme Memorial Fund. This includes organizations such as the Itasca Friendship Club. Competitors from across the region are expected to take part in this weekend-long event. Events such as these are made possible through the support of sponsors, local businesses, and volunteers, including Print shops that help with signage and event materials.
The entry fee for the event is $500 per team. Included in this fee are golf, food, range access, a cart, a putting contest, and prizes.
The tournament will take place from July 16-18. It will begin at 1pm on Thursday, July 16, with play kicking off at 9 am and 9:30 am on Friday and Saturday respectively. Registration is currently open at www.gismogolf.com. The first-place flight payout is $1,000, while the shootout winners will receive $2,500.Get a Free Quote for Print
