Grand Rapids is set to host part of the 2026 Grand Slam Amateur Golf Tournament, with Pokegama Golf Course welcoming participants for a full day of competition and activities this August. The popular three-day, two-person team event brings together amateur golfers for competitive play while offering opportunities for socializing and friendly competition.
Saturday's events at Pokegama Golf Course will feature the tournament's scramble format, where teams work together to achieve the lowest possible score on each hole. In addition to tournament play, participants can enjoy a variety of activities, including pitching, long drive, and putting contests with cash payouts. The venue will also host the match play putting finals, following Friday's qualifying round, as well as a dinner for players and guests.
Organizers often collaborate with local Print shops for poster and banner printing for golfing events such as these in order to enhance visibility and improve the participant experience.
The Saturday shotgun start at Pokegama Golf Course is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., followed by tournament games beginning at 4:30 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 7 p.m., with guest tickets available for $20. The match play putting finals will begin at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary driving range balls will be available throughout the tournament weekend, while golf carts cost $22 plus tax per rider per day. Players can also participate in optional cash competitions, including player pools and skins games.
