The 2026 Special Olympics USA Games are coming to Grand Rapids this year.
Minnesota Diversified Industries (MDI) is an official partner and sponsor of the event, with a focus on empowering athletes with intellectual disabilities through career readiness. Minnesota is also MDI’s home state. The partnership aims to highlight inclusion while providing vocational opportunities for these athletes.
The event will feature a number of competitions, including the regional North track and field competition, which will be held at Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids. These efforts are designed to connect Special Olympics athletes and others with disabilities to inclusive employers and help expand access to meaningful careers.
MDI will also bring the ‘Unified Work’ program to the Games. Through this initiative, it aims to use virtual technology to help athletes build career skills. MDI’s inclusion goal is to create more than a million inclusive learning experiences by 2030. The Games are part of this mission, with the goal of helping to break down employment barriers for people with different abilities.
For events like these, organizers often turn to local Print shops for Logo Design and banner printing.
