Grand Rapids walk to benefit Alzheimer's awareness

The 3rd Annual Walk Around the Block for ALZ will take place in Grand Rapids this October to support the Alzheimer's Association and raise awareness of the disease.

It will be a one-mile walk around a specifically designated block as a symbolic way for the community to ‘take steps’ against the impact of Alzheimer’s around the world. The event is open to all ages and abilities and will welcome leashed pets to walk as well. The walk is intended to bring the community together as friends, families, and neighbors converge together to honor loved ones living with the disease.

In addition, the event will also feature local artisans and vendors selling wares, food trucks offering local bites, and a playground for the kids. There will also be a corn hole tournament and other games and raffles to participate in. Like the walk, the after-party also welcomes leashed pets.

Local businesses may find it prudent to seek out sponsorship at community events like this as organizers will often exchange free advertising opportunities for promotional products from local businesses to be used in raffles and giveaways.

The Walk Around the Block for ALZ will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be held at 2168 Benson Lane, Grand Rapids. There is no cost to participate, but donations are encouraged.
