A local company is developing a new hiking trail in Minnesota this May.
The trail is set to go across five miles of both publicly and privately owned land. The company seeks volunteers to help with this mission. The project lasts for seven days, and will see the construction of new routes along the North Country National Scenic Trail. This new location replaces the Arrowhead Reroute. It will offer sightseers and hikers new, panoramic views of the surrounding natural areas, access to historical sites, and sightseeing of local businesses housed along the trail.
The company in charge of the project is the North County Trail Association. Through this project, they invite participants to celebrate the work of indigenous communities that have preserved the land. The Association aims to carry on the work done by the groups, while honoring the land and committing to the fight against their systematic oppression.
Patrons may sign up on the American Hiking Society's website. Accommodations for the duration of the event will be a campsite. Attendees will have a 3-mile hike each day to reach the work location. The minimum volunteer age is 16.

This event runs from May 1 - May 7. The meet location will be Tioga Beach Park, which is located at 24308 Tioga Beach Rd 1, Cohasset. The trail will go from Cohasset to Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
