A festival offering an introduction to African cultures will be held in Grand Rapids this August.
The ‘Glimpse of Africa Festival, as its name suggests, gives participants an insight and experience of African cultures in an open and friendly atmosphere. The event will feature an array of diverse displays, each featuring various items. These will be under genres such as crafts and dance performances. The outline includes interactive activities for participation from both adults and children, as well as delectable authentic food for all to try. Each showcase will be directly from the creators and persons in attendance are welcome to purchase merchandise such as African prints, carvings and more.
Patrons can look forward to a model of each African country’s national dress, as well as local designers showcasing original African-themed pieces. Alongside the displays, there are also fun activities such as tutorials, dance-off, quizzes, and giveaways. The event is free for all ages to attend.
Attendees could potentially benefit from interactive brochure printing, giving guests an idea of the variety of items that are available and for sale. It may also be used to provide information of the line-up of performances at events like this.
This event takes place on Saturday, August 6 at the Rosa Parks Circle, which is located at 135 Monroe Center Street North West, in Grand Rapids Michigan. The festival begins at 10:00 am and ends at 9:00 pm.
