The Forest History Center in Grand Rapids will host the Winter Lecture Series: North of Nowhere this January with Minnesota storyteller Terry O’Brien.
The Forest History Center is a nature history center located in Grand Rapids that introduces the public to the past and present of Minnesota’s fierce woods. Guests to the center learn about the history and present of these forests through interactive exhibits and nature trails. The center also hosts special events and educational programming, such as the Winter Lecture Series, which explores the various themes of the frigid north, both its folklore and its reality.
The North of Nowhere lecture will be led by Terry O’Brien, celebrated storyteller, writer, radio producer, and teacher who has lived in northern Minnesota for over 50 years. The lecture will encompass traditional northern folklore, as well as thrilling, true histories and adventures of travelers, trappers, and winterers who call this region home.
Lecture series are often accompanied by informative Brochures that attendees can use to glean further understanding of the topic at hand. These brochures can often be printed in bulk by visiting local Print shops offering brochure printing services.
The lecture will take place on January 18 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Forest History Center is located at 2609 County Road 76. The lecture is included in regular site admission.
