Saginaw chorus to sing at sculpture museum

The Saginaw Choral Society is performing at Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum this winter.

The candlelit Jazz Mosaic event is designed to combine and contrast different styles of jazz, including both traditional standards and contemporary variations. The Saginaw Choral Society will sing, and a local jazz trio will play the instrumentals. The performance space will be lit with candlelight, which the organizers hope will create a warm and cozy atmosphere to complement the music.

Tickets are available on the Choral Society’s website now. The cost is $40 per person. This includes admission to a pre-concert reception, where light snacks will be served. A no-host bar will also be available. The Jazz Mosaic is the last of a three-part Boutique Event Series, which featured Choral Society performances at different well-known Saginaw venues. The group will also be performing a 1970s tribute in February. Details and tickets are available on the Choral Society website.

The Marshall Fredericks museum offers free admission to its gallery and sculpture garden, which together feature more than 200 pieces. Fredericks lived from 1908 to 1998 and sculpted for most of his life. He was called America’s Public Sculptor because of his work on monuments, memorials and medals. Museums often use brochure printing services to provide information about their collections.

The Jazz Mosaic concert will take place on Thursday, February 20 at 6:00 pm at the Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum.
