Free book fair to take place in Saginaw

Swan Valley Performing Arts Center is partnering with READ Association of Saginaw County and Swan Valley Schools to host a reading fair in Saginaw this March.

The afternoon will include a free book fair, a movie screening, student performances and snacks. Healthy, family-friendly recipes will be provided for attendees to take home. Community partners will have tables set up with different activities and resources. Organizations often give out Promotional Products at this type of community event.

The event is intended for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade and is open to all students in the area, not just those attending Swan Valley schools. Anyone planning to participate in the book fair portion of the event needs to register in advance so the organizers can have the right number of Books ready for each age group.

READ Association of Saginaw County is a local organization that works to help children enjoy reading and improve their reading skills. It runs several programs, including a mentor program that pairs children with volunteers for weekly reading time and the Raising Readers Academy, which supports parents in developing a reading habit at home. It also offers tutoring for children with dyslexia or who are reading below grade level.

Spring Into Reading will take place on Saturday, March 7 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at Swan Valley Performing Arts Center in Saginaw.
