Positive Results Downtown Saginaw is hosting a Holidays in the Heart of the City celebration this November.
The event will feature live music, open houses, food vendors and a cookie house baking competition. Horse-drawn wagon rides will be running on Ezra Drive throughout the evening. The Japanese Tea House, the Children’s Zoo, the Mexican American Council and The Montague Inn will be having open houses.
Positive Results Downtown Saginaw will be releasing the event poster with more details soon. Organizations often use poster printing services to promote community events.
The cookie house contest will take place earlier in the day. Contestants can set up their entries at the Andersen Enrichment Center from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and judging will take place at 3:00 pm. The houses will then be on display the following day, November 22, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Participants need to register by November 15 in a specific category. These include elementary, middle and high schoolers, businesses, nonprofits and professionals. Michigan Sugar will be providing a four-pound bag of white sugar and a two-pound bag of powdered sugar for each participant, which they can pick up at the Andersen Center. All components of the house need to be edible, but battery-operated lights are allowed.
Holidays in the Heart of the City will be on Friday, November 21, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
