The annual Saginaw Art Fair is taking place in the Riverfront District this summer.
The fair features a juried selection of more than 60 artists and crafters selling their jewelry, metalwork, ceramics, woodwork, paintings, photographs and fiber art pieces. All artists needed to apply and be approved by a panel of experts to sell their work at the fair. Vendors often use banner printing services to decorate their booths at this type of event.
Attendees can participate in free art classes. These will teach techniques like paper quilling, poured painting, tie-dyeing and firefly painting. There will also be free yoga and dance classes and space for outdoor painting. Food trucks will have a variety of items for sale, including shaved ice and other summer treats. Attendees can also enter raffle drawings and play yard games.
Live music performances will take place throughout the weekend. Performers will include Major Chords for Minors, Tana Michaels & The Crushtones and The Outfit. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs. Artist previews and scheduling details will be posted on the art fair Facebook and Instagram pages as the event approaches. Saginaw Art Initiative hosts the fair with support from the Local 85 Union.
The Saginaw Art Fair will take place on Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, from 10 am to 5 pm, on Ojibway Island.
