The Saginaw County Young Professionals Network (YPN) is hosting a presentation on professional growth this fall.
The Dig DPER event will give attendees a four-part framework for developing as leaders. DPER stands for decision-based, position-based, evaluation-based and results-based leadership. The current president and CEO at the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, Eugene Seals, Jr., will lead the presentation. Seals will draw on his experience as a professional basketball player to teach a motivational and practical approach to leadership. Participants will reflect on their past experiences to become more confident in their current roles, learn to exercise leadership whether or not they have a formal title and discuss specific metrics and strategies for running an effective team.
Space is limited, so those interested in attending should register as soon as possible. The cost is $25 for both YPN members and guests, which includes light refreshments. The event is appropriate for professionals with any amount of leadership experience. The YPN is a program of the larger Saginaw Chamber intended for early career professionals in their 20s and 30s, though the group is open to anyone. Organizers often use printing services to create handouts for this type of educational event.
Dig DPER will take place on Thursday, October 30 from 8:30 am to 11:00 am at the Delta College Downtown Saginaw Center.
