Saginaw Chamber to celebrate community leaders

The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce is hosting an awards lunch to recognize individuals and businesses who have supported the area.

The Community Leadership Awards Luncheon will present five of the Chamber’s annual awards. The doors will open at 11:00 am, and the sit-down lunch and awards ceremony will start at 11:30 am. The Outstanding Small Business award goes to an excellent business with up to 50 employees, and has been given to Cobblestone Homes this year.

The other awards go to individuals. JoAnn Crary is receiving the Veronica L. Horn Lifetime Community Service award, which recognizes a lifelong dedication to service in both the community and the recipient’s profession. The Dr. Samuel H. Shaheen Vision of Free Enterprise award - which goes to a business owner or investor who has shown innovation, commitment to the community and high ethical standards in their work – will go to Paul Furlo. Waheed Akbar and Dan Streeter are receiving the Spirit of Saginaw and Community Impact awards, respectively.

Tickets are available on the Chamber’s website now for $65 per individual or $480 per table of eight. Many local and larger businesses are sponsoring the event. Organizers often use banner printing services to recognize sponsors at awards ceremonies.

The Community Leadership Awards Luncheon will take place on Friday, September 26 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw.
