Harbor to welcome German market

Glen Burnie Christmas connoisseurs will be heading to Baltimore’s Christmas Village, which will open towards the end of this month.

The event will be an indoor/outdoor market resembling the Christkindl Market in Nuremberg. Merchandise vendors will be selling international gifts, jewelry, ornaments, and fine arts and crafts from wooden booths. Traditional European food such as gingerbread, waffles, and bratwurst, along with drinks like mulled wine and sweets, will be available for purchase.

The giant 30-foot Gluhwein Pyramid, a German Christmas tower, will be lit with 3,000 Christmas lights. Children can ride the a carousel and everyone can enjoy the giant Ferris wheel at Bicentennial Plaza. Christmas ornaments will be available at Kathe Wohlfahrt (hand-crafted traditional German), Muroslava Creation (Ukrainian), and Nordic Dreams.

Pictures with Santa can be taken at Booth #12. Photos like these are often used for Christmas cards made at nearby Stationery printers.
