Many runners and parade enthusiasts here in Glen Burnie will be attending the St. Patrick's Day Shamrock 5k and parade coming to the area in mid-March.
Registration for the 5k will be $65.60 and will go up a few dollars after February 28th. A virtual option is also available for $65.60.
Swag will include finisher medals, free race photos and post-race celebration. The race after party will include live music, on free drink, snacks, and prize drawings.
The route will be an out-and-back beginning at Charles and Mulberry in Baltimore and finishing at Market Place.
Awards will go to the overall female, male and non-binary finishers, and Masters (40+) category. Awards will also go to the top three female and male finishers in 17, 5-year increment age brackets.
Proceeds from the race will go to St. Vincent De Paul of Baltimore supporting the area's individuals in needs.
The Shamrock 5k will take place March 15th beginning at 1:00 pm.
The 65th Baltimore St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place afterward beginning at 2:00 pm. It will begin at the Washington Monument, 699 N. Charles Street and end on Pratt Street at Market Place. The parade consisting of color guards, traditional musicians, Irish step dancers and iris pipe and drum bands will also feature floats, and community and civic groups.
Many parade entries will get banner printing done beforehand and place Banners out in front of their marching units and floats to introduce them to the spectators.
