The MD Rail Trail Biking Group is inviting everyone to its Bike the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail in early August.
The pace will be up to 15 mph and there will be three distance options. One option will be biking 5.1 miles south through the Planet Walk sculptures turning back at the Pluto information station. Another option will be turning around at Mile Post 7 at the Ealeigh Heights Ranger Station, and the third option is turning around at the Big Bean Cafe. The trail itself is 13.3 long and connects Summers Road in Annapolis to Dorsey Road in Glen Burnie.
Riders will meet in Sawmill Creek Park near the pavilion between 9:15 am and 9:30 am. The group will bike one mile on the north easterly connector trail and turn onto the B and A trail. The group will stop for a few minutes every 2 miles. Meetups will be at the picnic tables in Earleigh Ranger Station, at the Big Bean Cafe and back at the park.
All skill levels are welcome, and RSVP will be a good idea. Non-members may want to give $3 donations to help with expenses.
The Bike B and A Trail ride will take place on Sunday August 2nd from 9:15 am to 12:15 am beginning at 7405 Charley Eckman Lane.
Groups of bike riders that regularly attend events like this occasionally get matching colorful T-Shirts printed with their team's names at local Print shops.
